How to Hi5 on Desktop

A Hi5 is a recognition message from one co-worker to another to show appreciation for good work, and to encourage positive behaviours in the workplace.

Every week (at midnight on Sunday, to be exact!), you get a fresh batch of 5 x Hi5's to give to your co-workers. You will see all the Hi5's in your company on the Hi5 Wall of Fame.

Here's how to give Hi5's on Desktop:

Step 1

On your Hi5 Wall of Fame, click on the blue hand icon near the middle of your screen.

Step 2

To find the co-worker you'd like to give a Hi5 to, scroll through the list of names on the left, or type their name into the Find a team member field. Click on their name to get started with your Hi5.

You can also give a Hi5 to someone outside of your organisation, by clicking on the *Give a Hi5's outside your company button. See how this works.

Hi5's Notice Board Calendar

The Notice Board is an excellent tool for quick and effective workplace communication. Never miss a company announcement or event again! Anyone in the company can create and send a Notice to specific Departments, Roles, Offices or Permissions within the company.

||| Important: If you're an Admin, you can go to My Company > Settings to toggle whether to allow Employees & Line Managers to create Notices.

Step 1

To start a new notice, click on the Add New Notice button on the right.

Step 2

A new notice will pop up. You will then be able to edit the subject and content of the notice. Customise your notice by adding hyperlinks, changing font size, font colour, adding bullet points and more. Once you have done this, click the Next button.

Step 1

Once you've logged into Microsoft Teams, add Hi5 by going to the Apps menu tab, then search and select "Hi5". Click the "Add" button when prompted.

||| Note: If you're unable to find Hi5 in the Apps section, it might mean that you first need to allow third-party apps and give Hi5 permission on your MS Teams account. Follow the steps in this article.

There are two ways in which you can reset your password for Hi5.

Method 1: Forgotten your password

Step 1

On the Sign In page, enter the email associated with your Hi5 account. Then, when prompted for your password, click the Forgot Your Password? link below the Sign in button.

Step 2

When the Password Reset window appears, enter your email. Click the SEND ME THE LINK button.

Step 3

Check your inbox for an email from notifications@get5.io with Forgotten Password as the subject line.

Step 4
You will receive an email similar to the one below 👇 Click the Reset Password button.

A new browser tab will open - type in your new password and click on the Create new password button.

Want to run a company-wide survey on employee happiness, individual performance reviews or just want to find out from your managers what they learned at the last seminar they attended? Follow the steps below to measure anything using Hi5 Pulses.

| Important to note: Pulses creation & viewing are currently only available on Desktop.

Step 1: Create a new Pulse

Go to your Manage Pulses tab under Pulses. If you don't see it after toggling Pulses on in Settings, refresh the page.

Now, click on the Add New Pulse button on the top right-hand side corner of the screen to start creating a new Pulse.

Inviting co-workers to join your company account on Hi5

There are 3 ways to add more people to your company on Hi5: by email, by sharing your company's sign-up link or via Microsoft Azure Active Directory (AAD). Follow these easy steps:

Option 1: Add co-workers via Email

Step 1

Click on the Add Co-workers tab in the menu.

Step 2

Select the Via Email tab. Enter the company Name & Surname and the Email Address of the co-worker you'd like to invite. Then choose their permission from the dropdown (learn more about permissions here). Click the see more button to choose Departments or Offices.

Once you're done, click the Invite User button - they will receive an email from notifications@get5.io with an activation link.

Inviting many people at once:

Click on the Upload by CVS button. Follow the instructions on the pop-up to upload your .csv file. We provide a template .csv file that you can download and populate with your company's users.
